How Long Will It Take You to Disassemble Your Elliptical Machine?

Disassembling an elliptical machine will take about two hours. 

How to Disassemble an Elliptical Machine?

Step One: Remove the Stride Arms

To remove the stride arms, you will need a Phillips screwdriver. The pivot screws are located at the back of each stride arm, and there is one on either side per assembly.

Step Two: Disconnect the Resistance Assembly from the Frame

Disconnecting the resistance assembly from the frame is done by removing the three bolts located at the back of each pivot arm.

Step Three: Remove the Arm Pivot Bearings

There are four bearings, one on either side per assembly and they need to be removed by undoing their retaining screws with an Allen wrench.

Step Four: Remove Cables and Wires

To remove cables and wires from your elliptical machine, use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the screws that are secured to each end of the cable.

Step Five: Remove the Pedals

Remove the pedals by loosening the mounting bolts with a Phillips screwdriver.

Step Six: Remove Pivot Arms from Drive Unit

To remove pivot arms, pry up on one side of the arm and pull it away from its securing clip located on top of the drive unit. Repeat this process for the remaining three sides until all four pivot arms are removed.

Step Seven: Detach the Pivot Bearings from the Frame

Detach the pivot bearings from the frame by removing the bolts and washers.

Step Eight: Disassemble the Frame

To disassemble the frame, remove two screws at each end of the elliptical machine’s baseplate to detach it from both the top and bottom sections. Liftoff one side panel on either end of the framing arm by unscrewing the retaining screw with an

Step Nine: Break Apart the Frame by Hand

Next, you will need to break apart your elliptical machine frame by hand. At this point, it should be completely dismantled and ready for recycling or storage.

After you have cleaned your equipment, it’s time to reassemble it! This task should only take 30 minutes or less if everything was taken. Just work in reverse order!
